Continuing with the previous topic of initial meetings, the next phase for parents on the first meeting of the new sport is the coach.  Undoubtedly, one or two helpful parents have checked the form to be the assistant coach.  Willing to attend as many practices as possible and help where ever there busy schedule will allow.  The commitment of the head spot seems too out of reach for these devoted parents.  They should be applauded for there quick decision to fight without the true danger of battle.  Don’t think for a minute I am above the fray.  My name has certainly been adorned with “the check mark”.  I am a feverishly busy guy myself, don’t you know.

In all honesty, all volunteers should be commended.  They are devoting their time to help make your child a better teammate and athlete with no compensation but the happiness that there efforts bring.  When is National Volunteer Coach day any how?

So, if you don’t have the check mark, don’t hesitate to help when ever you are able.  Just remember who the head coach is.  Yeah, who is that anyway?
